It’s estimated that 27 million Americans will leave the traditional workforce in favor of full-time self-employment by 2020.

Majority of entrepreneurs fund their business with their personal savings and employment income.
- 65% admitted to not being fully confident they had enough money to start their business
- 80% of entrepreneurs funded their business out of pocket.
- 93% said they calculated a potential run rate of shorter than 18 months.
Here’s the truth, too many entrepreneurs underestimate or don’t understand the value of budgeting and forecasting for their business. According to a U.S. Bank study, 82% of businesses that fail do so because of cash-flow problems. It’s important to analyze a company’s cash-flow to be prepared and ensure business surplus and deficits are always known. Budgeting is the foundation of a prosperous business.
I am Ebony Murphy, the founder of Blessed Budgets® LLC. I am a financial advisor and consultant, Certified Financial Planner (CFP) candidate, United States Air Force Veteran with a background in Logistics, Procurement, and Supply Chain Management.
